The short answer

What this is

Most training problems do not come from lack of effort — they come from poor decisions made too early. Starting with an assessment instead of a programme allows training to be built around your body rather than forcing your body to adapt to generic programming. The Longevity Assessment is the structured evaluation that establishes your baseline before any phase, load, or volume is selected.

Common
questions

What is the Longevity Assessment?

A structured evaluation designed to understand how your body currently performs and what it needs to remain strong, capable, and resilient long-term. Rather than jumping straight into training, we measure movement quality, physical capacity, lifestyle factors, and recovery habits — so training decisions can be made deliberately rather than based on guesswork.

Is a Longevity Assessment the same as a fitness consultation?

Yes — a Longevity Assessment is a structured fitness consultation built around longevity markers rather than aesthetic goals. Over 90 to 120 minutes we assess movement quality, strength, cardiovascular capacity, and health markers, producing a personalised report and training plan. It is the structured alternative to the typical introductory PT session.

What's included in a Longevity Assessment?

The six markers that actually matter: Blood Pressure, Grip Strength, Waist-to-Hip Ratio, Lifestyle Factors, Functional Movement, and Resting Metabolism + VO2 Max (measured directly with a Calibre Biometrics Mask). Plus a structured strength baseline across the major lift patterns, a training-history review, and a written Results Review with a personalised pathway recommendation. No gimmicks. No guesswork. Just clarity on where you are and a plan to improve every marker that impacts how long and how well you live.

Who is the Longevity Assessment for?

Professionals who want a structured, intelligent approach to their health and training. Most clients are 45 to 60 years old, busy professionals balancing demanding careers and family life, experiencing declining energy or consistency, and looking for a long-term strategy rather than short-term fitness fixes. No previous training experience is required to book.

What do I receive afterwards?

A written Results Review covering your current strengths and limitations, the key areas that will yield the greatest improvements, the recommended training phase, and a suggested pathway forward (1-to-1 coaching, online coaching, or a self-led programme). The Results Review is yours to keep regardless of whether you continue with coaching.

Can I book online or do I need to come in person?

Both options exist. The in-person Longevity Assessment is delivered at UNTIL Bishops Square in the City of London. A Virtual Longevity Assessment is available for clients outside London or with frequent travel demands — it uses guided video movement testing and accessible field cardiovascular tests, with the same Results Review and pathway recommendation.

How does the Longevity Assessment lead into coaching?

It is the foundation of every coaching pathway, but there is no obligation to continue. The Results Review identifies the training approach best suited to your body and constraints — you then choose whether 1-to-1 coaching, online coaching, or a self-led programme fits your life. Some clients use the assessment as a one-off audit and continue training independently.

Why start with an assessment instead of a training programme?

Most training problems do not come from lack of effort — they come from poor decisions made too early. Starting with an assessment lets us understand movement limitations, injury history, current physical capacity, and lifestyle constraints. Training can then be built around your body rather than forcing your body to adapt to generic programming.

Do I need to be fit to do the assessment?

No. The assessment is designed to evaluate your current baseline, not to test how hard you can push. Everything is adjusted to your current ability and injury history so that we can gather meaningful information safely. Whether you have trained for years or are returning after a long gap, the assessment meets you where you are.

Is the assessment suitable if I have injuries or pain?

Yes — and in many cases this is where the assessment is most valuable. Understanding previous injuries, movement compensations, and current limitations allows training to be structured safely and progressively. If any red flags appear during the assessment, appropriate referrals to a physiotherapist or GP are made before continuing.

How often should the assessment be repeated?

Most clients repeat the assessment every 6 to 12 months. This allows us to track improvements in key areas — mobility, strength, balance, and aerobic capacity — and update the training strategy accordingly. The repeat cadence is built into ongoing coaching for clients who continue beyond the first assessment.
